About My New Book
Young Lincoln of New Salem is a book that will get you into Lincoln’s heart and soul…
After 3 years of writing and many more years of research, my new book is finished.
It is a historical novel that explores Abraham Lincoln’s life on the rugged Illinois frontier in the primitive village of New Salem from 1831-1837, between the ages of 22 to 28.
Lincoln goes from store clerk to postmaster and captain of militia in the Black Hawk War. The love and heartbreak he experienced during those crucial years would take him on a spiritual journey that would both haunt and inspire him throughout the rest of his life.
Dear Reader, it is my sincere hope that you may also find my new book both moving and uplifting. – Sam

About My First Book
A Return to Meadow Wood is the inspiring story of a Vietnam veteran seeking healing from PTSD and closure to painful memories suffered during that horrible war…
Jack Holden, a former combat medic, is on a bus trip searching for the sister of his best friend, who was lost in Vietnam. His search takes him on a journey into love and healing.
Memorable characters and events take the reader from the horrors of war to a ‘Lost Eden’, through a struggle with the awesome fury of nature, to a place where both Jack and Mattie discover a healing power that brings them together.
This novel was written over many years, growing out of the experiences of several veterans, including myself. Its writing was a cathartic, faith inspiring experience for me. I hope the reading of it will be just as memorable for you. – Sam
